Galerie Shokat is a place to experience art in a setting that encourages dialogue and interactions among artists as well as viewers. These interactions are achieved in a gallery environment that presents themed exhibitions of various artistic expressions. Through the vehicle of themed exhibitions, the gallery space facilitates discussions among diverse and similar groups of artists and viewers; exploring among themselves or together, the meaning of art, and it’s empowering potential to transform and transcend our communities and lives.

Lolo Khan was born in Tehran, Iran. She is the owner of Shokat gallery. She grew up surrounded by the artwork of her grandmother as well as sculptures, wrought iron works and paintings of her father.

She graduated two years ago from the California College of Ayurveda and worked as a Clinical Ayurvedic Practitioner for a couple of years. She is also a Chemist by training and currently works in the biotech industry. Opening the art gallery is like bringing a soul into the dead body of her corporate life!

Peter de Vries was born in The Hague, in Holland. He comes from many years of Marketing and Management experience in the corporate world (Kelly Moore paint company, Mobil Chemical company and Mercedes Benz). Throughout his life he has been a passionate collector of art from around the world.

He has extensively traveled to Europe and has always been on the look out for the art that touched him deeply. He will be the main contact with the public and the artists in Shokat gallery.
